[...] Returned from the field on the 31st January 1934 ; again left for the field on the 17th March 1934 and returned on the 14th April 1934. [...] Granted earned leave from the 14th to the 29th May 1934 and from the 9th to the 11th October 1934. [...] always basaltic lava considers that the lateritisation of the basalts and the granitic rocks has been similar but that the nature of the rock which has been lateritised has influenced the constitution of the laterite produced.
