This is a non-fiction work that traces the history of the Mizo before the coming of the British and the changes brought by the influence of Christianity. The author first described the geographical nature of the early days of Mizoram and proceeds to discuss the cultural aspect of the community. He discussed about the important events in their social life, their actions and their opinions towards alcohol which was banned under the influence of Christian principles. He also discussed their early rituals and pagan nature, their supernatural belief about the life after death and the place where people go after their death
