The Board of Economic Inquiry Punjab. Domestic Budgets(1941-42) of Thirty Families in the Murree Suburban Zone (Rawalpindi District)

Two villages were selected for intensive study and records of family income and expenditure of fifteen families in each village were kept for one full year by local recorders under the supervision of an 'investigator.* One of the villages Sehr Hadot lies about eight miles east of. Murree on the Rawalpindi-Kashmir Road and the second Masot is situated about four miles north of Murree on the Mu [...] In all out of the thirty families Es8 for study in the two villages there were 26 of Dhunds and 4. The economic life of the people of both villages is greatly influenced by the proximity of Murree and the surrounding military cantonments.
