On the other hand the calculation and other work connected with the New method of Experimentation and Computation for directly obtaining the Digestibility Co-efficients of Individual Feed Nutri ents in a mixed ration " [a paper on which has recently been published in the December (1934) issue of the Indian Journal of Veterinary Science] absorbed the staff for a considerable time. [...] The activities of the year may be classified under the following heads :- 1. Further experiment for the confirmation and more critical examintion of the new method of direct estimation of individual digetibilities in mixed rations. [...] V The noteworthy point of the method is that it obviates the necessity of either using the assumed values (from standard books) for one or other of the mixed feed or the altenative of conducting trial with the single feed at the first instance then folloed by the combined feed. [...] the increased efficiency of straw on the addition of cake and (2) the ultimate effect of this efficiency in the shape of increased total availability due to the convergent causes of increased consumption and efficiency. [...] The main increase has been due to the increased ingestion of straw due of course to the effect of feeding of cake.
