Hindley to the post of Registrar of the Appellate Side has led to a noticeable improvement in the manner of administering the new Rules. [...] To look at the matter from another standpoint the sole reason why a legal profession has been allowed to grow up and assigned a definite part in pr'teedings at law is that the law-makers have recognised the limitations of the human mind and instead of leaving the considertion of a case solely to the presiding officer of the Court has provided him assistance in the form of submissions by ski [...] I would be highly obliged if you or an other lawyer would kindly enlighten me on the subject by discusing the legal aspects of the matter in the columns of your highly esteemed and widely circulated journal by referring to the law and caslaws bearing on the point. [...] In the first number the coditions of service prevailing both on the Original and the Appellate Sides of the High Court are discussed with. [...] The question arose whether the Plaintiffs were or were not estopped from pleading that they were raiyats on the priciple that there cannot be any estoppel against the statute: Held (TERRELL C. J. MACPHERSON and FAZL ALI JJ.)—That had the terms of the lease described the Plaintiffs correctly as raiyats.
