Under paragraph 3 of that notification the Central Government in exercise of the powers under section 10 (3) of the Industrial Disputes Act prhibited the " continuance of the strike or lock-out in connection with the dispute aforesaid which is in existence on the date of this notification ". 4. On the same date the President of the Union addressed a letter to the company stating that they had [...] 1The second argument on behalf of the company in this connetion is that the effect of the second notification dated 1st June was to amend the original notification dated 4th May only in so far as to add two further items of disputes ; in other respects the notification remaining the same with the result that the notification as amended would purport to recite the newly added dispute as o [...] In that case the preamble to the notification of the Government of Madras was in these terms whereas an industrial disputa has arisen between the workers and managements of the Cinema Talkies in the Madras State in respect of certain matters and the objection raised on behalf of the company was that the reference was invalid in as much as no dispute as alleged did in fact exist. [...] With regard to the question whether the employees are entitled to wages the answer would depend on the answer to the question whether the lock-out was occasioned by an unfair labour practice or misconduct on the part of the employer. [...] L. R. 1(60)151-IL—In pursuance of sub-section (2) of sectieh 15 of the Industrial Disputes Act 1947 (XIV of 1947) the Government of Pakistan is pleased to declare that the preceding award shall be binding within the terms of section 18 of the said Act and shall remain in force for a period of one year with effect from the date of the award.
