The video is a recording of a performance by the classical flautist Hari Prasad Chaurasia. Hari Prasad Chaurasia (1938- ) is a Hindustani classical music practitioner and he plays the bansuri (bamboo flute). He was born in Allahabad and he began his music training by learning vocal music from his neighbour at the age of fifteen. He became a disciple of Bholanath Prasanna of Varanasi and learnt how to play the flute. He received training from the legendary Annapurna Devi who is believed to have made him change his flute playing position from the right hand to the left. He was part of the music duo Shiv-Hari with the eminent santoor player Shivkumar Sharma. They composed music scores for many films. He has collaborated with many other national and international musicians.
