The video is a recording of the programme Artists on Art organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi featuring a presentation by the artist Haku Shah and conversation with Prof. Alok Rai at Kaustabh Auditorium, Rabindra Bhavan on 12th March, 2011. The title of the presentation was “Art that Breathes, What Breathes is Art” and showed slides which were arranged in four sections. The first section of the slideshow dealt with the use of breath in Indian art. The second section was concerned with the use of material and technique in Indian art, especially folk and tribal art.The third section featured slides of works which provided inspiration to the artist and the last section dealt with his artworks and paintings. In his conversation with Prof. Alok Rai the artist spoke extensively about Mahatma Gandhi and his deep relationship with art.
