The video is a presentation on the Basantotsav festival which was organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC) at Gandhinagar, Gujarat in 2008. The festival was held at Sanskruti Kunj.The audience were treated to a wide variety of folk and traditional performances from across the country. Some of the dances which were performed were the Gotipua of Odisha by a troupe of boys dressed up in female attire. This traditional dance form is highly acrobatic and is based on themes inspired by the life of Radha and Krishna. From the state of Uttarakhand was the Jaunsari Harul dance performed by both male and females. The Gusadi dance of the Gonds of Telangana was also performed. This dance is part of the Dandari dance troupes which are formed after the harvest season. The dance is identified by the massive and elaborate headdress made of peacock feathers.
