This video is a presentation on the Octave festival which was organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC) at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium in Surat, Gujarat in November, 2009. This festival is organized by WZCC to showcase North- East culture. The festival was inaugurated by the Honorary Governor of Rajasthan and featured a wide variety of performances from the North East. The audience was treated to Buddhist Chanting by a group of monks from Tawang and the Eme-Relo dance of the Adi tribe from Arunachal Pradesh, the Hozagiri dance of the Riang tribe of Tripura, the Barat dance and the Bihu of Assam, the Ka Shad Mastieh dance and the Wangala of Meghalaya, the Aphilo Kughu of Nagaland, the Lai Haraoba, the Thang-Ta and Pung Cholom of Manipur, the Singhi Chham and Ghato Kito of Sikkim and the Cheraw dance of Mizoram.
