The video is a presentation on Shilpgram, an art and craft village, 5 kilometers away from the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan. It was set up in the village of Hawala with the sole objective of preserving the artistic, cultural and tribal heritage of the member states of West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC). This craft village was inaugurated in 1989 as a platform where the rural and indigenous culture of the four WZCC states, that is, Rajasthan, Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra could come together in a single platform. The culture, lifestyle and traditions of the various ethnic communities of these states are represented in the 31 huts that dot the premises of the village which is spread over 7 acres. Every year the Shilpgram Utsav, a 10 day festival, is held during the month of December where more than 700 artisans come to Shilpgram and set up stalls.
