National art week of new media

The video is a recording of a session of the National Art Week of New Media organized by Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi in collaboration with Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. This six-day programme included presentations by some of India’s most important artists, art critics and art historians on contemporary art practices. The event took place from September 21 to 26, 2010 at Chandigarh. The video is a recording of the presentation made by the contemporary artist Sudarshan Shetty of Mumbai. After a welcome speech made by Diwan Manna, the Chairman of the Chandigarh LKA and bouquet presentation to the artist, the slideshow started with a video of the 2006 show, Love, in Mumbai. The opening video gave the audience a view of the artist’s art practice of large scale kinetic installations and sculptures. This was followed by a presentation on an overview of the artist’s practice from 1995-2010.
