Sanjari : Concert by Dhananjay Kaul Kashmir संजारी: जम्मू और कश्मीर के लोक गीत - धनंजय कौल

Spirituality and Sufism have a profound influence on the folk songs of Kashmir. The famous singer, Shri Dhananjay Kaul, mixed these feelings in his melodious voice and presented it to the audience. When he presented Mahjoor Saheb's folk song 'Roj Roj Bozmenjar Madnau' and Mahmud Gami's folk song 'Mere Fakir Aftab Hai', the audience was completely immersed in them. The Sufi song ‘Chhakri’, written by Ahad Zargar and set to music by Ali Mohammed Sheikh, was also highly appreciated. Shri Dhananjay Kaul sang this composition in a special rhythm of three and a half taal, accompanied by the Rabab. It is not possible to play this taal on the tabla. The program also included the 'Waak' singing of the ancient sage tradition of Kashmir which is composed by Shaiva Laleshwari. Shri Dhananjay Kaul has received his training in music in the guru-shishya tradition from his father Guru Shanti Chaitanya Kaul and from Vidushi Nirmala Arun. A brilliant confluence of ‘Swar’ and ‘Shruti’ is seen in his singing. During the program, he told that the folk music of Kashmir consists of 32 ragas of Hindustani classical music. This is the reason why the folk music of that state is very rich. At the end of the program he presented Dinanath Nadim's 1947 song named ‘Bagyaavan Aj’, the soulful rendition of which left the audience mesmerized. In this programme Rashid Jaffer accompanied on the Tabla, Saidur Rahman on the Sarangi and Abdul Hameed Butt on the Rabab. कश्मीर के लोकगीतों में आध्यात्म और सूफ़ी का गहरा प्रभाव है। इन्हीं भावों को प्रसिद्ध गायक श्री धनंजय कौल ने अपनी सुरीली आवाज में घोलकर श्रोताओं तक पहुंचाया। महजूर साहब के लोकगीत ‘रोज रोज बोज्मेंजार मदनौ’ और महमूद गामी के लोकगीत 'मेरे फकीर आफ़ताब हैं’ को उन्होंने जब प्रस्तुत किया तो श्रोता उसमें डूबते चले गए। अहद जरगर की लिखी और अली मोहम्मद शेख की स्वरबद्ध कश्मीरी सूफ़ी रचना ‘छकरी’ को भी खूब सराहना मिली। श्री धनंजय कौल ने इस रचना को साढ़े तीन मात्रा की विशेष ताल में रबाब की संगत में गाया। यह ताल तबले में नहीं बजती। इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान कश्मीर की प्राचीन ऋषि परंपरा का ‘वाक’ गायन भी शामिल था, जो शैव ललेश्वरी द्वारा रचित है। श्री धनंजय कौल ने अपने पिता गुरू शांति चैतन्य कौल और विदूषी निर्मला अरूण से गुरू-शिष्य परंपरा में संगीत की तालीम हासिल की है। उनकी गायकी में स्वर और श्रुति का शानदार संगम देखने को मिलता है। उन्होंने कार्यक्रम के दौरान बताया कि कश्मीर के लोकसंगीत में हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत की 32 रागों का समावेश है। यही वजह है कि वहाँ का लोकसंगीत काफ़ी समृद्ध है। कार्यक्रम के अंत में उन्होंने दीनानाथ नादिम की 1947 में लिखी नज्म ‘बग्यावन अज’ प्रस्तुत की, जिसकी भावपूर्ण प्रस्तुति ने श्रोताओं को भाव विभोर कर दिया। इस कार्यक्रम में राशिद जाफ़र ने तबले, सईदुर रहमान ने सारंगी और अब्दुल हमीद बट ने रबाब पर संगत की।
