The name Varanasi is an amalgamation of the names of the two tributaries of the holy river of Ganga, Varuna and Assi. The vast river turns northward only to visit Lord Shiva's favourite city Kashi/ Varanasi. There is strange sense of serenity amidst the chaos in Kashi, and the best way to experience it is to take a boat ride along the river Ganga. Kashi the spiritual capital of India, a city that shares a symbiotic relationship between the river and itself.
