This monograph is authored by A Fuhrer and aims to present to the students of Early Indian History and Buddhism the results of the important and interesting discoveries made in the Nepalese Tarai. It further discusses the birth of Prince Gautama Siddhartha, the Lumbini Grove, Ashoka’s pilgrimage to Buddha’s birthplace, Kapilavastu- the Capital of the Cakyas, etc. The concerned research or filed work is carried forward by the author under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of Northern India.
