A Study of the Ornamentation of Durga Idol

This book is a 10th-month report from 18th June o 17th, July of 2014 on Preservance and digitising art activities during Durga Puja. This book is about Durga idol, its ‘form’, its ‘making’, that has continued to evolve with the changing times, a study of the ornamentation of Durga idol demands a focus, too. In Bengal, the handicraft industry that has developed around the intricacies and nuances of DEVI SAA or the ornamentation of Durga idol, being remarkable, demands serious documentation and analytical study. This publication is an outcome of the project under Lalit Kala Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India which is titled as "Preservance and Digitising Art Activities During Puja Festival in Kolkata."
