Stories from the consolidation of powers of the East India Company to the eve of the Mutiny, bring out a narrative brushing on the political, economic as well as social stance of India during that period. Written after surveying over forty individual works, this book aims to provide information on every aspect of Indian life from the eyes of a foreign observer. The book has several illustrations, painting the picture of India with its people, their customs and social life.
