It provides information on the development of early Indian art, the religious influence on it, the early Indian carvings and sculptures, the Gandhara structures, and the art representing Buddha and Bodhisattva along with some political history. The book also helps one to understand the character and meanings of these Buddhist structures through various illustrations.
