The Vamana Purana

The present critical edition of the Vamana Purāņa contains 69 adhyayas forming the critical text and 28 adhyayas as the additional text called the Saro-mahatma which has been inserted in the critical text between its adhyayas 23 and 24 as is the case in the North Indian Devanagari MSS of the Vamana Purana. The Kashmirian MSS also inserts this text of the Saro-mahatma here but omits its first portion of nine adhyayas containing the first Vamana-carita.
