This is a biography of Saikuti by Mr. Selthuama. Saikuti is an important woman figure in relation to the composition of the cultural Mizo songs. The book is divided into two parts. The first part contains chapters that tell the story of Saikuti from her childhood days to her marriage, till her last days. The second part of the book contains the songs of Saikuti. The author mentions that what we know today as ‘Saikuti Zai” (Saikuti’s song/singing) is not wholly composed by Saikuti. The prominent themes in the songs are patriotism, nostalgia, nature and romance.
