A Coomaraswamy Spectrum

This book provides the text of seven radio broadcasts given by A. Ranganathan on the contributions of Ananda Coomaraswamy to the understanding of Indian and Asian art, religion and philosophy. The author was a student and admirer of Coomaraswamy and paints a vivid picture of his teacher’s role in increasing the knowledge of Indian and Asian aesthetics, especially to the audience in the West. The broadcasts introduce Coomaraswamy and detail his role as an interpreter of Indian, Buddhist and Rajput art. His achievement as a scientist and a man of letters form the subjects of the last two broadcasts.
