This book is a collection of the archaeological annual reports of India for the years 1920-1921. Authored by John Marshall, these archaeological reports are issued by the Director-General of Archaeology. The book throws light on the conservation of Muhammadan and British monuments, Hindu and Buddhist monuments in various parts of India. The conservation of monuments was financed from the local funds, but substantial grant-in-aid for it was made from Imperial Revenues. It also talks about the exploration of Hindu and Buddhist monuments throughout the country.
