Himalayan Folklore by E S Oakley and Tara Dutt Gairola was published in the year 1935. The text is divided into five sections. Mr Oakley's collection covers a wide range of folklore literature of the Himalayan Hills. The beliefs of the people and their legends and songs, are the source of nearly all the literature; and their institutions and their customs are the origin of modern times. According to the author, the science of folklore, archaeology and anthropology, and comparative anthology, and religion are indispensable.
