The book, third volume, compiles the English, Persian, French, Hindi, Sanskrit, Rajasthani and Marathi sources and reconstructs the story of the fall of the Mughal empire. It narrates the story of the Delhi monarchy from the entrance of Shah Alam II into his capital in 1772 through seventeen years of his rule, to his capture and torture in the hands of Ghulam Qadir in 1778. Another strong personality in this volume is Mahadji Sindhia, who created peace and prosperity in Delhi.
