This book contains the English translations of 193 Persian newsletters, written between 1810 and 1817, regarding Ranjit Singh, an eminent ruler of north-western India during the early 19th century and his court. These documents include full information on personal, administrative, financial, military and judicial matters. Each newsletter mentions the name of the court (or ruler), the date of writing or recording the events and the place of dispatch of the letter. The headings of each letter suggest the movement of the ruler.
