Art in Afghanistan: Objects from the Kabul Museum written by Benjamin Rowland was published in the year 1971. The photographs in the book have been provided by Frances Mortimer Rice. It begins by talking about the Mundigak and the Indus Valley Culture, followed by the realm of Bactria and Hellenistic Art in Asia, the Kushan empire and the treasure of Begram. It also mentions the Art of Gandhara with respect to India and Rome, the wall paintings of Bamiyan, the Buddhist Art of the Pilgrimage roads, the art of the Ghaznavid Empire and finally, the pagan art of Kafiristan.
