Parsvanatha

An image of Parsvanatha the 23rd Tirthankara seated on a throne under the canopy of a seven hooded serpent. The eyes, srivatsa and the seat in front are inlaid with silver and copper. He is flanked by two standing Tirthankaras and two attendants at the extreme ends. The throne is flanked by the yaksha Gomedha and yakshini Ambika seated in lalitasana. Navagrahas are shown on the pedestal in front. A chakra flanked by two bulls is also depicted on the pedestal. Over the snake, hoods are shown a triple umbrella and flying celestial beings. The left leg of the standing attendant figure is broken. The back bears an inscription of three lines and the date as V.S. 1119.
