- Piraji Sagara was an Indian painter and Sculptor from Ahmedabad, Gujarat born in 1931. he was an alumnus from the J.J. School of art, Mumbai and taught at the School of Architecture, CEPT in Ahmedabad. He introduced wood collages done with the use of coloured board, tin plates, brass plates, nails in sculptures and paintings. Piraji's work have a unique nature created by the application of Paint on Burnt Wood. He excelled this technique to such a fineness that the material was totally defeated to its actual nature.
