This is a double edged sharp curved dagger with a medial rib on both sides of the blade. The lower end is thickened with reinforced point and sunken central section with fullers is secured to the hilt. The pommel is shaped like a Horse head damascened with golden coloured floral design and around the neck of the horse. The horse wears a bridle with carefully depicted snaffle reins and a symbolic embossed floral motif at the forte. The dagger is devoid of quilons which indicates it might be a ceremonial dagger. Elaborate decoration on weapons in the medieval times is linked with the custom of giving gifts at the Durbar (court) of local rulers (Rajput) where bestowing of weapons was a mark of high distinction, and a well ornamented and decorated dagger or sword indicated his position at the court, signaling imperial approval.
