This is an Indo-Persian style dagger with a dark green nephrite hilt. The blade is made of a very high quality watered Damascus steel and the hilt is kept simple and robust, which is a characteristic feature of a pesh-kabz, an Indo- Persian dagger that was introduced in India by the Mughals. The dagger also contains a portion near the ricasso of the blade which is rendered with intricate foliate motifs in koftgari technique (false damascening) in gold. The hilt is kept straight with a slight curve tip near the pommel. The end of the butt of the hilt has a tiny bud or button-like extension.
