This is a terracotta plaque depicting the elopement of Vasavadatta, the daughter of the king of Avanti with Udayan, the king of Kaushambi. The elephant is moving to the right. On the neck of the elephant is seated Vasavadatta and behind her is Udayan holding his "Ghoshvati" vina near the tail. A seated man is shown throwing gold coins. It is damaged at the top and right corner.
