It is a Bikaneri painting, which depicts the two incarnation of Vishnu - Parshurama the sixth and Rama the seventh, facing each other. Parshurama challenges Rama for breaking Lord Shiva's bow. However, instead of the sabha-mandapa (audience hall), the artist has dramatised the event by placing it against a forest backdrop.
