In this Kangra painting, the composition appears in the form of narrative as Queen Tramati and Raja Harishchandra are depicted twice outside the cremation ground in different moods and mode. Initially, Queen Taramati is shown dressed in traditional attire with the dead body of her son in her lap and later walking away. Raja Harishchandra clad in a loincloth and covered his face in grief is depicted lying on the ground while inside the cremation ground six pyres are burning with small white structural elements.
