This Pahari painting is a visual depiction of Raga Achad (an Indian Musical mode), which is considered as the son of Sri Raga. Raga Achad is shown as Nayak (hero) seated on a bed under a pavilion and is holding the arm of Nayika (heroine), who is standing near the bed. Her face is turned towards the Nayak. On the bed, a cushion can be seen kept in one corner. The whole scene is set against a green background with a narrow blue sky. Nayak and Nayika are engaged in conversation and adorned with jewelry made with pearls. The painting has an inscription on the border.
