The canvas has been divided into two parts a large and splendid palace fills almost two-thirds of the space, leaving one-third for the foreground. The painting depicts Rama entering the palace with his brother, a parasol held above his head. They are on horseback and surrounded by courtiers. Here Rama, his brother and other courtiers are pictured enjoying a special feast.
