Nanda Carrying Krishna on his Shoulders

This painting belongs to the Pahari school of painting which depicts Nanda is carrying Krishna on his shoulders and supporting him with his hands. Yasoda, standing to the right of Nanda, is trying to bring him down but Krishna is reluctant to do so. Balram is standing close to Yasoda, with hands clasping her skirt and looking down to his left. Nanda is fair complexioned, has grey moustaches falling down at the ends and a grey flowing beard. He wears a full-sleeved green jama, orange-red trousers, a kamarband, a knot tied on the front side, a cloth thrown over the right shoulder and a turban with a yellow crossband. Krishna is blue complexioned, has black hair on the head, wears malas, armlets, karas. Yasoda is fair complexioned, has black hair on the head, well-dressed and tresses falling at the back, wears an orange coloured choli and skirt and a blue patka, and an ordhni, bangles. Balrama is almost nude, only an ornament tied round the waist, has thick black hair on the head, wears armlets and karas. It has a light green background and red border with a black line.
