Dhola Conversing with His Nobles

This painting belongs to the Rajasthan school of painting. The ballad of Dhola -Maru was composed by poet Kallol(1550-60) in the Dingal language in the reign of Raval Hariraj of Jaisalmer. A nobleman seated against a pillow and being attended by a chauri-bearer is conversing with two men seated in front. The scene is laid down on the terrace of the palace. Brown background. The painting has an inscription at the top.
