House draped with squash flowers

1959

Squash vines grow and bloom diagonally across the front of this house sitting close to the road in this village in Kathmandu Valley. A woman with a baby in her arms stands in the doorway. Rice is drying. Chiles are also drying. A porter carrying firewood passes by. A boy also walks along the road. Further down the road, past terraces with rice planted, is a house with a thatched roof.
