Letter from Benjamin Smith Lyman to Mr. Lesley

1870

Lyman encloses a bill of exchange for American currency to pay off debts detailed as a statement of accounts with the letter, with additional funds for the renewal of subscriptions to several academic publications, and for filing fees on a mining instrument patent. He also describes the confusion his appointment has caused in Calcutta, and a destination in the Punjab for his first job as Mining Engineer for their Department of Public Works.
