Research in Progress Wide border, probably from a coverlet, with an offset repeat of bouquets of flowers tied with a bow, and with tiny delicate flower sprays between the larger bouquets. Top and bottom guard borders are set off by fine curving lines, with fanciful symmetrical flower sprays alternating wtih delicate arabesque and floral arrangements with diaper filling. Very fine silk chain stitch in intense shades of black, blue, green, gold, red, pink, and white, on a fine off-white plain twill cotton ground.
