Research in Progress Long scarf of black cotton, embroidered in colored silks, predominantly red, with yellow, green, white, and orange. Circular central motif is formed of a series of star shapes. Four patterns of circular form, evenly spaced at side of center, suggest a peacock with enormous tail in complete circle. Detached motifs of birds and leaf sprays. Toward ends a motif of heart-shaped tree outline frames small plants. Inscription or names worked in red. Edge whipped in red, fringe at end. Seamed down center.
