Square shawl with a solid black center medallion and a vertically and horizontally symmetrical design of elongated boteh or paisley forms incorporated into an overal vegetal scheme.The shawl is embroidered in a design typical of woven-pattern Kashmir shawls in red, white, blue, black and green threads on ground of red twill. The black twill which forms the center medallion is pieced in, while small solid areas of red, black and blue cloth are appliquéd. Guard border and separate "harlequin" border of green, blue, yellow, white, red and black tabs. Signature in center.
