Research in Progress Triangular shaped ivory wool shawl fragment, densely embroidered with ivory silk in compartmentalized floral patterns. Chain stitch border with long fringe. 2/2 twill ground fabric which has been brushed, patterned by a tightly plied ivory silk yarn couched with a single ivory silk yarn. The plied silk yarn is looped as it is couched to form a linear pattern with a distinctive quality.
