Postman, Punjab, Pakistan, ca.1910

“Panjabi [Punjabi] postman.” Portrait of indigenous postman sitting atop a camel. Another man is pictured in front of camel. Punjab, now part of Pakistan, was annexed by the British in 1849, and was situated on the fertile plains at the base of the Himalayan range by the Chenab River.
