The image is paired with another under the title, "weaving cloth, India", and the individuals could be involved in the production of cloth. ❧ Thomas Hunter (1827-1857) was the first Church of Scotland missionary to the Punjab he was murdered with his family during the Indian Mutiny (1857) and had only arrived in Sialkot that year. His successors, John Taylor (1837-1868) and Robert Paterson, would not arrive until 1860.
