"Houses in hills, built one on another, India. [Kinar?] Village". Landscape showing tiered houses on a hillside. This village is in the region of Dalhouise in the Punjab and sits in the Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas. Chamba was an independent princely state and came under British influence in 1848. It now forms part of Himachal Pradesh.
