Procession of pilgrims, India, ca. 1906

Black and white lantern slide showing a long procession of on an Indian mountain road. Some carry umbrellas to protect them from the shade. A cross seems to be carried in the procession, possibly making this an Easter celebration. This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
