Woodwork in village, India, ca. 1930

Black and white lantern slide showing a family sitting in a village courtyard. A young man seems to be engaged in woodwork, and an older man sits across from him, holding the other end of a wooden frame. Another man sits on a log to watch, a woman sits behind, and a small child watches the working men. A water jug and drinking cup can be seen in the foreground of the image. Houses in the village are thatched, and washing can be seen hanging from reed fencing. This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
