A rich banker at Siwan, India, ca. 1906

Black and white lantern slide showing two Indian men standing at the top of a stairway to the entrance of a building. One man wears traditional dress, whilst another wears a Western style dark overcoat. The face of another man can just be seen in the doorway. The original caption to this slide reads: "A rich banker at Siwan. He gets 25% interest on his money." This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
