Text: folios: 1b – 36a The title "Kitāb Mufīd al-ḥiṣāb" [The Book of Mathematical Assistant] appears at the end of the manuscript. At the beginning, the manuscript was called "Kitāb fī al-ʻadad al-Hindī" [A book on Indian numerals]. Arab authors always considered, and correctly so, the Arabic numerals as coming from India.
